I use to be able to show the drywall in a ceiling gable where a cathedral ceiling meets a flat ceiling. Now my plans don't show the drywall anymore in 3D. They're all set to Intersect now and no matter which ceiling edge I change it to, it won't show up. I have one plan which I changed it to hip>vertical and it showed the drywall in the gable. In the other plans, if I try to change it to hip>vertical, it changes back to Intersect>vertical with no drywall.

Any ideas?

I've had some of the same issues. Seems SP wants to think it is smarter, but it is only frustrating. Have you tried unchecking clean up? Or, placing one ceiling on a different layer and locking it? Or, a different building option? Can't remember if I've had success with one of those options.

I've also had those issues ... I've had some success changing the whole roof to hipped and editing all 4 sides to suit.

I agree about Softplan thinking it knows what you want ... under no circumstances should it be overriding user changes.

Here's Softplan's answer although it didn't use to be this way concerning ceiling meeting ceiling.

After seeing the solution it makes sense.  Give it a reference and make it vertical.

I've also run into this alot in V2018.  Hidden 'dummy' wall to attach the lollypop to was my solution.  Not sure why things that work well get changed from release to release.

Maintain Aspect Ratio as a default for symbols was another 'bonehead' idea.

Yes and we get told that we have to do things a certain way because that’s the way it’s built even if it’s takes to much time for what we need but when we mention something doesn’t work the way it’s going to be built, then the solution is to add imaginary supports.

You have no idea how much that bothers me ... I've cursed and sworn at it on many occasions!

One "upgrade" made the copy command much more cumbersome too!

How did the copy use to work? I think I remember that I liked the previous function too, but haven't gone back to compare it. Was that 2014 or 2016?

You could just say COPY 12 → Enter, and it would copy 12" to the right. Now you have to actually type the number etc, in boxes. It was so quick and easy and it got complicated.

Not sure way we can not have an override when editing the lollipop to a specified reference height.

On the copy command: so were they just trying to add a multiple copy function, or how did you multiple copy before? I really like how sketchup does it- move, copy, multiple copy, and equally spaced between copies are combined with a few keystrokes.

I think a more efficient option than a dialog box would be some sort of live pop up near the cursor that tells users what's going on.

Sorry, just realized this totally off topic of the original thread.
