Good Morning,

I am trying to get an exterior window head trim to overhang by an inch (I can do that), and then have the trim flare up at a 60 degree angle instead of straight up at 90 degrees.  I cannot get what I want using the custom trim, unless I am missing something?

Is the best way to draw a solid?

Is there a way to draw a custom pediment?

Open to suggestions...

Thanks,

Dave

I had the same problem and simply used sketchup to draw a custom pediment! Worked perfect for me.

You can find the pediment folder under the 3D symbols folder

You can add a Custom pediment through the LIBRARY > OPENING TRIM > PEDIMENT menu the same way you make other symbols, but unless you link it to a 3D model, it will only show as a shape. Depends on what you need to show

If you decide to draw a custom pediment, have a look at his post here ... http://softplan.com/...ediment/?p=4538

Thank you all.  I ended up just creating a solid and copying over the windows for a quick fix, but I will make a custom pediment today! (or at least try to!)

Tom, that is the shape I want, but not the material.  Is that custom or one of the trim options I can't figure out how to duplicate?

This can all be done within Softplan, if you just modified your dwg trim files located in C:\SoftPlan\Profiles\Exterior Trim

I modified some files and created 2x2 over 1x4, 2x2 over 1x6, etc. to use as window trim profiles.

These can be set as your default window trims if you always use this type of window trim.

I have attached a screenshot of the angled trim settings as well as a view of several window trim configurations.

Tommy,

Good job with the different trim variations. Would you upload or show a screen shot of your 2x2 over 1x4 and angled trim piece that you saved to Exterior Trim? I feel many get stumped by building the SP profiles.
