Is there any way to draw a "polyline" in SP.  A line that has many vertices and acts as a single line so that changes happen along the line.  I thought I had done it in the beginning but now I can't figure out how it worked.

You can Draw>Shape>Polygon

There is also the Spline option also found under Draw>Shape>Spline that will allow you to draw a curved line and adjust it to suit.
