I am generating a custom block for a piece of furniture in a restaurant that will be placed many times.  I want each one to be a unique color. Is there a way to change the color of one occurrence of a solid, or do I need to make each block be composed of a different solid group?

different solid, every solid #1 will have same attributes, so if you change color on solid #1, all #1 solids will change.

if you want 20 different colors on solids, you would need to use 20 different solids.

Thanks, Tommy.  That is what I thought.  It would be nice to be able to "mask" one particular occurrence of a solid or surface instead of having to make a new block or wall each change.

You don't have to make a new one- just edit and change.
