Spent way too long trying to create this front door today with no luck.  It doesn't have to match exactly, just something close.

built a custom door using the jeld-wen products with softplan, but it comes out blank in the renderings.

When generating elevations those jeld-wen doors look correct and generates all of the line work, but it's the 3d aspect that doesn't look correct

I finally gave up and tried to just post a door texture to a plane and couldn't get that to work out either.

If I associate a texture, it gets close but still not right.

Brad ... Did you add the dotted line to represent the glazing?

Have you tried switching between Enhanced & Actual Openings in the Extraction Options?

Had the exact same problem a few weeks ago when I was trying to create the same door. The arches did not match up between right and left doors. Never did get it to work right.

I was attempting to use the doors that softplan has in there stock library from jeld-wen.  in hind-sight I should probably just go back and create my own custom opening and trace out some type of grille pattern.  I'm guessing the jeld-wen doors in softplan don't have any dashed line for glazing in them.

And here we go.  Finally got it. I don't know about all of the jeld-wen elevation openings, but certainly, this one didn't have the dashed line for glazing in them.  You have to go back and explode the elevation opening, draw the dashed line in there.  Then go into system options and overwrite the existing elevation opening with this new one.  Then go back to drawing options and re-update all of the library's and it should appear with glazing in it afterwards.

I think that's because the Jeld-Wen doors links to an actual 3D door symbol and in your case, it's using the Softplan elevation created. Good job!

Ahhh, you are correct again.  I looked back at the elevation openings and their linked to a "plain" door symbol.

I had the same problem on a design I just finished  Had to add shadows and adjust camera so that it would be hidden

Fundamental Friday next week hosted by Brad Graber?

That reminds me of the workshops Randy and his group used to put on back in the day.  i always wanted to go to one of those, but never could make it.

I had a couple of requests for that door.  I will attempt to attach it here.... although I think the steps outlined above are most important.  once you get those down you can create quite a lot of different openings.

And the trainings were a lot of fun. Went to a couple when they were in Sacramento and just Tom and Randy. Also went to the week long one in Vegas. Some good times!

I sure wish you guys would put one on again.  I went to the one in vegas when I was maybe 30 days into owning the software.....everything was way over my head so I even left early.  Now that I have 12+ years into the program...I'd love to do another week long training.
