When I draw something like this col. that has a texture applied to it the texture often rotates 90 deg. and stretches to fit.  The col. looks like the one on the left when drawn the using onestep I put it into my system library.  Then when I insert it into a drawing it looks like the one on the right.  If I explode it then it reverts to the original appearance.  What am I not doing that I should be doing?

What format are you saving it in?

I'm not sure how to answer that.  I am saving it in the SP symbol library.  I don't see a format choice there.

Are you saving a 3D model? If so, you have a choice how the model is exported. The best choice (IN MY OPINION) is exporting the 3D model as a DWG file.

Not sure but try this:  Go to the column in your System Library and edit the texture to match the texture options of the column on the left.  Remember to reset the Drawing Library to System.

We'd be happy to take a look if you can send us a ticket with a drawing and the symbol.

That is a great symbol/post.  Would love to see that as a standard to be part of "Post" in Softplan Brent-hint hint.  :D

If I ever get it to work right I'll post a copy of it here.  I sent in a ticket yesterday.  We'll see what the verdict is.

It's a very simple process to create it as a 3D model out of standard solids. You can even use a standard 6" x 6" post in the middle to be able to adjust it to beams.
