I think the biggest change on 2020 is to make elevations live. It gives more incentive to really detail the model.

  My happy list:

  1. The pdf to shapes my new favorite.
  2. Resolution of imported images maintained. I wish I had this now...
  3. Counter tops can be shown solid lined with cabines and walls below dashed. Yay finally.
  4. Auto place outlets can have min distance from openings set. I think I may actually start using this more now.
  5. Extension lines have have linetypes overrided.
  6. Recover files tool added. Hmm, This could have helped yesterday. @$#%&&
  7. Multiple lines can be trimmed or extended via select command.
  8. Items can be assigned an option via right click. I hope this is like set layer. I would use options more if it were that easy.
  9. Keynoting. I like that this is an option. I may explore this more.

  What I had hoped for:

  1.  I don't see a siding direction for 2 sided walls. I thought that was an easy fix.
  2. No updates to stairs. No modern stair options, like a spine stringer, floating stairs, or more dynamic circular stairs.
  3. No new opening types, like Nanowall, pivot exterior doors. Hopefully some manufacturer content with them are added.
  4. No flat roof options with parapets to automate it a bit. Not that much of a biggie.

I was hoping Softplan would have started gearing toward the modern style tools and not just bread and butter conventional types. We can only customize content so much.

Anyway, I am excited for the new version, but this is not as big as other years imo.

My favourite in that list is PDF import as shapes ... will definitely save time.

I asked some questions about that. And of course it will only work with vector based PDF files and not the raster based ones.

It looks like version 2020 will have the ability to export to a 3d printer.

Yes exports to SketchUp to 3d print. I mentioned that I would like to see direct printing straight from the SoftPlan menu.

Impressive list. Pleased with the new features so far.

Keynoting will be great. I think the Google Earth Site import will be a huge timesaver for us.

That said, I was hoping to see more control over line types. Like to ability to create our own. This would be very useful for MEP drawings.

I would like to have seen some commercial door hardware like exit and panic devices and closures.

Also, Plumbing and HVAC modes.
