Hopefully this gets addressed on the next release.  Pretty sad a CAD platform can't align siding properly, a few releases ago we had control of vertical movement.

Does paint not STILL have a vertical offset option? I know textures were a problem, but thought that paint was controllable. Having said that, as far as I'm concerned ALL paint and textures should have a common datum in a drawing. That way they would ALWAYS line up correctly. Another option would be to have the paint datum at the SEED POINT.

no control of shifting it vertically.  yes should be based off of something globally.

i deleted the paint, quit SoftPlan, restarted Softplan and redid the 6" horiz siding.  Looks great now.  However clearly there is something wrong with this process.

vertical offset doesn't act like its supposed to when offsetting small distances.  give it a try........a few versions ago it did just fine.

What happens if you right click on the paint pattern and select 'Cleanup item' from the quick select menu? Also Available from the Edit - Common tab for the paint.

There are definitely still issues with getting paint to line up. I don't have any problems adjusting the offsets or cleaning up. The problem is if you change an offset and try to repeat edit in another area, it doesn't line up right. However, if you enter the same offset in the dialog box each time they will line up. That is time consuming.

Paint has a Vertical and Horizontal Offset option to help with alignment.

Sure now today it works great and so did the vertical offset.  notice i did a 1" offset.  it showed correctly.  (1" dim for reference)

I swear though some days it doesn't work correctly.

Thanks Brent

I had discovered a while back that after I fill in an elevation with paint, I go back and edit each fill only so it re-generates, then the vertical aligns.
