I lines when I need them for guides objects etc.  How can I get them to show in other modes?

Example, I draw patio and porch edges in the floor plan with lines.  How do I get them to show in the area mode, floor system mode?

While in area mode and floor system mode:
Options
Visible Items
All items
Check the box for Shapes

If you only want your porch lines to show in floor system mode and not all Shapes, use layers to control visibility.
