Is there a way to import a PDF file and convert it to a line drawing?

If you have the Review module you can select Review > Import Portable Document Format (PDF)

If you bring the PDF into INKSCAPE (FREE), you can immediately save it as a DXF file (without doing anything else) and import the resulting DXF linework into Softplan.

Importing the PDF into SoftPlan directly will only bring in an image file of the PDF. You can not edit the PDF file at that point. Try the Inkscape.
