Newbie here. Am working my way thorough tutorial videos etc. trying to get up to operating speed. Am needing some help with the definitions and intended uses of the Model plans, Floor plans, Drawings and how they flow into the project. Have seen tutorial video showing plans copied from the model view into the plan set pages. What are floor plans vs. Model plans and how are they intended to be used?

 

I see "Drawings" under each of Elevations, Cross sections, and Interior Elevations and assume these are where one would add notes, text and detail? Then add these to Plan sets?

 

Hopefully somebody can steer me in the direction of an unseen video or topic to help understand.

David, The Model would be the location you would stack the Floor Plans ie; Foundation, Main Floor,Second Floor etc. placed in the same

order the building would be constructed. From the floor plans stacked in the Model is where the 3D rendering would get information for the

rendering. Under the model tab you can select what type of rendering/model you would like to generate.

 The Floor Plans are as they indicate the floor plan drawings in 2D form.

The Elevations would be the Building Elevations save as a Softplan Drawing .spd and generated in a buildings elevation view.

Cross Sections would be the section generated by a cross section line and saved as a Softplan  ,spd Drawing

Interior Elevations would be similar to the Exterior Elevations only generated from an Interior perspective and saved

as a .spd.

 Notes, Text etc can be added to any .spd file
