I worked on a house and set up a lot of wall types, layer names, floor framing etc.  Now I need to start a new house.  How do I get the new job to have all the work I did setting up the old job?  We also use AUTOCAD in our office.  We have a prototype for all of our drawings we do, with everything we need.  It would be great if we could have the same thing with Softplan.

Thanks for any help.

The quickest way that I do it is to open the old job and then do a "Copy Project to" under the file command.  Then just rename the project to your current and erase any data that you dont need and start drawing.

The other way you can do it is to go into the old drawings and in the project settings you can go to the sections and save to system settings.  This is a bit longer as you have to do it for walls, symbols, beams, materials, etc.  Then you will have your "prototype"

It all  depends on how much you are going to be on Softplan.   If you are moving to use it exclusively then it is worth the time to properly prepare.  IF you just need a one off quick then the copy project will do

Just be careful ... when you "Copy project to" you are still working in the original project ... ! - It's managed to catch me a couple of times over the years.
