I am trying to do a material list of what is needed for a renovation work project. I have used existing exterior wall. During our construction we will be adding exterior siding, trim and insulation but the studs will not be altered. When I create the Softlist I can not find a way to separate the pieces individually. I see in the definition that I can click on each unit piece. Does it sound correct that I turn off on the calculate Softlist on the wall assembly and then just click on the ones that I want through the definition?

Yes, it does seem logical that you turn Softlist OFF in the definition if you don't want them in the material list takeoff. Try one as an example!

I did end up creating a small test project to see. Yes, you can turn on and off the individual pieces of a wall to customize the take off.
However what I am not trying to figure out is how do I get just a calculation of insulation for an exterior wall only and not the wall framing? I am use the insulated stud in my wall assembly.
Disregard-I ended changed the insulated stud to regular stud and added another material of Batt insulation
