Thanks Allen! I'm really starting to like this software....although find my self spending too much time with the render side of things....amazing all the effects you can get from it. Don't laugh, its only my second day working with Lumion.
Almost seems like the SoftPlan model must be perfect when you publish the Lumion file because you cant edit things within the model once its in Lumion.

Hey Joseph, you should be able to edit the model and reload it in Lumion. I have not used the new SP2020 'direct export' yet, but I know as far as exporting as .3DS and .DWG that I am constantly loading/reloading things in Lumion to get things looking perfect...well, as perfect as they can be! ha.

The examples posted are truly amazing. It is such a huge step from what we can produce from within SP. Seems so pricey, but I suspect if you can work with one version for several years without the need to constantly pay for upgrades, and the renderings are a beneficial addition for your clients then it is worth it. I am intrigued, but not sure it would pay off for most of the folks I work with who are mostly happy with basic renderings and sketchy 3D models via exports to other programs with free viewers, etc. I may be interested on occasion, in hiring a SP peer to produce renderings of a project.
So enticing. So glad we have more options for rendering and working with our SP projects. There's a chance I may bite the bullet for the fun of it, but I just am not convinced I "need" it at this point. If any of you are willing to work with my projects to produce a rendering or video I'd be interested in learning more about "per project" costs and those possibilities.

Yes Allen, I assign them to each window per clip. I am still experimenting with the "reflection globe" but find I cannot get the nice reflections that the plane(s) give. And you are correct, it does tend to slow the rendering times down a bit, but I feel it is worth it.
What brand of video card are you using? I am currently running a GTX1080 but I hope to upgrade and speed time up a bit. Unfortunately Lumion is not SLI capable, so all the processing has to be done by a single, high powered video card.

ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080ti
My stills and photo sets are very quick but then again this is my very first time using Lumion and its with this graphics card. I have a lot to learn on videos. Need to figure out what settings will work best for me. FPS, Resolution, etc.
Like most things i pick up something new in Lumion daily...so with time...LOL.

Wow! that video card is a BEAST! I struggle sometimes with FPS when I have a large model with lots of ancillary models like beds, furniture...etc. I am sure you will have no problem with that graphics card and same here with Lumion... Once you get a solid result on a rendered clip, you can then copy and paste all your settings to the next. Super simple ha!
