And, so it goes. More and more companies are doing subscriptions that push people either to step way up or move on and find another solution.

Brian, Strucalc, which we purchased before the subscription era, has a load tracking tool that

automatically updates and recalculates all the loads in the chain from roof to footing whenever

a member in the chain is changed. Unfortunately this is now only available through subscription for new users.

Forte also has the load tracking but when I look at the TrusJoist Javelin software it almost looks like it automatically traces loads from a 3d model. Which imagine if SoftPlan could export this type of information how much easier sizing would become. Now as a disclaimer I have never used Javelin just going by what I have seen in demo and online.

SoftPlan has an export to javelin feature... I wonder if anyone has used it?

Yes I know. I have spoken with reps from SoftPlan who said that TrusJoist just gives them the protocols for export. And then I speak with TrusJoist and they have no idea about importing it. So I have never really gotten anywhere talking to them about it but never had a copy of Javelin myself to play with.

Boise Cascade had BC framer at one time. It’s been years since I’ve seen it though...
