This version adds a Google Maps Site Data command that imports 3D terrain from Google directly into the Site in SoftPlan. This allows quick creation of 3D site plans without having to visit the site or have the site surveyed.

Does each "point" of the polygram require lat/long input or does the import know what is represented by the polygram somehow ?

There is a "geo point" that becomes visable when the site plan is put in the model stack.  That point can be moved to the point where the Long. and Lat was taken from Google Earth.

 

The more accurate your placement of that point is the more accurate the drawing will be of course.

It works off the north arrow or surveyor's coordinates.

Is the terrain availailable for all around the world?  I do a lot of lake homes, some with steep sites.  If it was reasonably accurate and easy to use that could be a big help.

Dennis, On the larger parcel is there a need to set grade lines for the entire parcel? On a recent project the

Montana "lot" if you will was 132,000 acres of which we isolated a 1 acre piece on which we set grades for the

proposed buildings. Information from Google Maps Site Data should generate nicely within the isolated bounds.

No.  I'm just trying to find the limits to my system.  150 x 150 bounds would work for setting the house.
