Can someone help me on how to create a custom siding profile or maybe there's a tutorial out there I'm not aware off!? I've played around and couldn't get it to work.

All I want is a simple Vinyl siding profile as well as a corrugated metal profile

I agree.  My SP2020 did not come with the board and batton profile so would love to see step by step directions.

Since I'm not at a Softplan computer at the moment, I'm ad-libbing, and this is probably oversimplified, but if you need to draw profiles, what you see is pretty much what you get ...

So if you want a typical Dutchlap siding, you can draw exactly what you want from a simple shape like this ...

to actually measuring a piece of siding and duplicating it exactly.

Again a steel profile can be a simple shape ...

or exact measurements.

I haven't looked seriously at 2020,but from what I understand, its exactly what you would expect ... you draw a 10" x 1" (9¼" x ¾") rectangle, and then a 2" x 1" (1½" x ¾") rectangle next to it touching at the top ... Like this (exactly what you would see a board and a batten).

And save it under PROFILES > SIDING. Then under your wall definition, you choose that profile, and check the VERTICAL box.

For a good example of the use of profiles, have a look at this pole barn thread, and the way pole barn girts are constructed. Especially Derrik Bauer's post (post #3).
