So when installing 2020 I had a computer issue and I think it messed up the old 2018 directories/file paths. When installing 2020 it changed the file to "date"... but now softplan 2018 cant find 3D symbols, wont display 3D and my plan set boarders are missing. I actually have two folders now with "date" softplan but one seems incomplete I tried to route to the other but still no go. Would it be better to just reinstall 2018 or try to untangle the mess?

Always, always make a backup BEFORE you install new versions.  I preach this because years ago I had something happen to me.  With a backup you have your data secure.

Well I backed up my settings but did not think about backing up the entire softplan folder. I thought it would install differently than it did.  So is it best to delete and reinstall or fix the file paths? Which I dont know if it is possible

When i have had directory issues in the past, I downloaded 2018 and then put all the system files that I needed into the old system folder.  That way I didn't lose al of my settings.

A few were having a problem with this in the pre-release.  Maybe the below link will help.
