While the structural engineer is doing his thing, anyone have a good source for strongtie details ? He only runs the numbers and forwards the local authority having jurisdiction required write up and calc when required.

Not sure just what you are asking for here Buddy. Simpson has lots of details on their site for installation of most everything. I am doing several projects at the coast so maybe if I more clearly understood what you are asking for?

Gary:

As I have never built a wood structure in a high wind loading zone, I am looking for details that are typical to that area...there is plenty of info on several websites, just looking for what is "the norm". Local areas have different ways of doing things, so trying to grease the skids if you will instead of re-inventing the wheel....building officals doing plan review are pretty easy to get along with if ya do things they are use to seeing...FYI: The project is located in Lincoln County..Yachats just outside the city limits...East of hwy 101.

My structural engineer only does the calc' s etc...no drafting...so, if you could point me in the right direction, that would be a great help.
The project is a small single, story master suite addition.

Thanks again
Buddy

Sounds like you need to find a new engineer

Check out the strongwall system. Sometimes local lumber yards can be helpful also.
