For those that have not installed yet..... a few nuisances that you MAY need to do.......I emphasize MAY as I am unsure if it installs the same on all machines.

1. Due to the large volume of work I produce, I have several clients on 2018 and even some on 2016. With that said, I created a folder on my C: drive and called it Softplan2020 to install the program directly to this folder to be sure I maintain the 3 different versions.

2. For whatever reason, I had to copy any special Symbols that I created from the 2018 symbols folder to the 2020 folder.

3. Speed notes.....same as above. Copy to the corresponding folder.

4. Special Rendering/material file settings. Same as above. Copy to the corresponding folder.

5. Plan sets. Same as above. Copy to the corresponding folder.

6. Make sure your SP2020 is using the NVIDIA driver to display or comparable. Even though I choose to install using 2018 configuration, it installed 2020 with the lesser Intel driver as the default display driver.

Again, the above MAY have to be done due to the fact I have more than one version on my machine or another reason.......

Just trying to help some thru the growing pains.....

Feel free to add to the list as needed.

Ive noticed the same.

I wish SP could somehow migrate all the above when you install a new version.

The migration is automatic as long as you are using the the default installation folder. If you choose to install to a custom folder, you can simply use the Archive- Backup/Restore function to port over whatever you want in your custom location.

Is there something missing when you used File- System Options- Archive- Back/Restore?

With regards to the video card issue you experienced, your video card has a control panel that was not configured to use that video card for all applications installed on your system.

How do you determine what the default display driver is?  Looks like I have "Intel® HD Graphics 630" as well as "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070" on my laptop.

Dennis,  You need to go to "Nvidia Control Panel" and make the change.  See my post last night in the mouse lag thread.
