I see we have a new feature somewhere that gives the ability to have a siding look like a real board and batten.  None of the textures in the manufacturer libraries look very realistic even though many of them are named board and batten or in a library with that name.  The thing we're lacking is any kind of instruction on the new feature.  I can't find anything in any menus, nothing on this forum, nothing in softplan youtube tutorials, etc.  How is this procedure done?

My understanding is you add a vertical material to your wall definition and link it to a profile much like you would add a stud, adding the profile to dictate the look. Now that I think of that, I wonder if we can add steel profiles or anything else to our wall definitions that will be more detailed than a typical block for a stud. I have not checked it out yet, but you've inspired me to look into it more when I have a moment.

Have a look at the as shipped board and batten wall definitions. You will see that the board and batten material in the wall definition has a siding profile of Board and batten and the vertical profile checked.

The ability to add board and batten vertical profile work great when viewing the model in 3D views. The problem i have with it is does not show the board & batten when using the new annotated mode. Or am I doing something wrong?
