Have a look at this post Tom.

The LINETYPE.DEF and the SITELINE.DEF files can be edited in a standard text editor.

But .... I will repeat .....

VERY UNOFFICIAL .... NOT SUPPORTED .... EDIT AT YOUR OWN RISK

Thanks.

I was able to create lines; however, after restarting program and new drawing the drop down list does not reflect the actual lines drawn.

Anyone else have this issue?

Depending on how you wrote the "code" will depend on what shows in the menu. Mine seems to work fine, but that probably doesn't help you.

Some (mostly dashed) default linestyles, that I did not change, do not display correctly.

Odd. Very Odd.

We need the ability to create line type styles from within program.

I did what is in this post however; now I cannot make electrical arc line with proper style.

......... I would recommend that if you do mess with these files that you backup the originals to somewhere safe, and be prepared to restore them if there are any issues. ........

It shouldn't have changed any of the standard lines unless you edited them.

I've been doing this a number of years now, and never had a problem with the existing lines. All I've ever done is add new styles to the bottom of the page.

You can always restore your default linetypes.

Wish List

  • create line type styles from within program
  • lines depicted in dialog box had same scale as actual line drawing or edited (see picture)

This is from a drawing edited before fixing line type file.

Apparently there will be an issue of combining line type files in existing drawings.

Yes, if you mix them there may be issues, as some items may use a certain line number ...

You can also try some of these:

2015.08.12_13h25m47s_001.png

The text will look something like this ...

2015.08.12_13h27m44s_002.png

AGAIN ... I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR PEOPLE BREAKING THEIR SYSTEMS - THIS IS A NOT SUPPORTED HACK
