My 2020 install (and one of my clients) are both missing the removed wall types that we had in our 2018 install.  not sure if these were from Softplan or ones we created, but other custom wall types are there, so I think we made a wrong choice during the install process.  couple questions:

1. best way to get these wall types into the 2020 install for future projects?

2. best way to get them into projects we have started on 2020?

3. am I the only one that would love to be able to just make a wall display dashed like we can for openings?  Having a removed wall type for all the walls used in a renovation project is a bit cumbersome, but it is the best way so far, right?

Thanks,

Dave

The best way to move them now is probably ARCHIVE > BACKUP AND RESTORE. Once they are restored to the 2020 system, you can use export/import to put them in the current project.

Since the walls have defined linetypes, you can easily edit any wall to be dotted by editing the wall, click DEFINITION ... Select the relevant wall ... SAVE AS " XXXX - Dotted"... Click on the LINETYPE header and change all linetypes to dotted in one click ... OKAY, then change the offending wall to suit.

OR you could just use the remove wall types.

My gripe with removed walls, is that EVERYTHING still references them ... dimensions ... electrical ... etc. They are more trouble than they are worth. It's better to just use dotted lines.
