Me and Building Options just do not get along very well....my issue is removing items from the default plan.  trying to develop a demo plan that shows what items remain after the demo....when I do, the default plan has also been revised with the erased "demo" item....when erasing an item, ONLY the building option for the demo is checked....The Building Options Gods are not very friendly to me...What is the sequence for Removing items from a floor plan and yet still have them in the default floor plan....

so confusion and very frustrating

So how did you fix the issue? I had problems the other day as well... Ended up just using layers to separate objects for different options.

Think of Building Options as an eraser or redraw tool...my mistake was to erase the items....all you need to do is not erase, just put the items in a seperate Building Option, and when that Option is not checked, the items disappear...majacally erased, only to magically reappear when that Building Option is checked....but the big different in a layer and building option...the changes happen across all mode in a building option....
I am still learning the in's and out's of using them...a big help is also to understanding how the Custom Drawing Option works as it relates to visibility of items when printing...that is another great new feature in 20.20.

Another difference between a layer and building option is that a layer that is turned off (not visible) still extracts in the model.  A building option that is turned off does not extract in the model.

See that's where I had the problem... turning off the building option did not hide the objects....

We had a lady who wanted to change her bathroom around a little bit, so I put all the symbols (original layout) on a building option 1, and the new layout on

building option 2. But when I turned off 1 and turned on 2, 1 was still there.

I had to use the layers to hide them.

I would make sure it was not part of the default options as well as the specific option. I have had that happen and just unassigned the options on the content to fix it.

yes, sounds like they are on two options.  They need to be taken off of default otherwise they will stay on.  Common mistake for me too
