Using 2020.  When I generate a top down view my walls don't show.  How do I set them to show?

Is there a bearing component (studs) in the wall definitions? They will not appear without at least one.

If you are doing a top down view as a 3D you wont see the walls.  It is a birds eye view and you only see the roof.  If you generated a drawing from it, then they should.  Post a picture of what you have.

If I try to generate a drawing I get a message that there is no framing to generate.  I found a work around.  I overlay the floor plan on my roof plan and I get what I want.  May not work too well on a two story though.

That is correct.  What you most likely want to do is after you generate the bird-eyes view, go to the softplan symbol and click on that; down to save and do a save as.  There you can create a 2D roof plan and name is as such.  It will become a .spd drawing (just like a floor plan).  Note that there will be some lines that wont show and will need to be added in
