Block Explode.

When I

  • save elevations to drawing
  • convert to shapes

many items still need exploding to manipulate.

A Block Explode would save a lot of time.

Have you tried making a Selection Set and exploding the items in the Selection?

Ctrl- Left Click to make an expanding box, Left Click again to accept the selection. Right Click the Selection Set and select Explode Items?

OK for temporary solution, but not a good flow with rest of the program when there are block selects built in for so many other commands.
