I have an survey image (jpg) that I'm try ing to get to the proper scale.

I pick the Edit tab, then adjust size, then window the drawing with generous proportions.  That brings up the "adjust size" dialog box.  I click on distance then enter the distance.

Next I'm supposed to pick the to endpoints of my distance but when I click on the first endpoint my cursor turnes into a window.  It won't let me click on two points.

If I click on scale and enter 2, that works.  I have rebooted and restarted SP.

What the heck am I doing wrong here.

My survey is totally useless unless I can scale it.  It doesn't have enough dimensions to completely reproduce it without tracing some of it.

You can't pick endpoints of a RASTER image. You will have to do a lot of trial and error adjustment on a JPG. The adjust size - distance only work on VECTORS.

What I would do, is draw a line over a known distance on the survey, and then edit it to find it's length (or dimension it). If it's 25' and it should be 100' then use scale = 4 (100/25). Obviously it's never going to be that straightforward, but that principle will get you what you the multiplier that you need.

Thanks, You are correct sir.  I forgot you can't pick on an image inside it.  I forgot to draw guideline to the outside to use.

Sure wish I could bring in some commands from autocad.

Yes you can pick two points in an image. I use Adjust Size and Distance on images all the time. You can't snap to them.

You have to select the image first.  Then click adjust size>distance, enter your known distance, and then click each end of the know distance on the image.  Key is to first select the image.

Well what do you know, that works exactly like  you said.  Thank you very much.  Now if I can just remember how that works.
