I have a site plan drawn in SITE mode.  I also have a floor plan drawn in DRAWING mode.

The sit plans has existing things like pool, drive etc. drawn with lines.  They are drawn in SITE mode and don't show up anywhere else.  I don't want them to show up on the model.

Why is it that in DRAWING mode that if I block move something some lines in SITE mode (that DON'T show in DRAWING mode) move?

As a side note, this has been an extremely frustrating week for me using SP.  It seems that half my time this week has just been figuring out how to get something to work.  It's been almost as bad as the first week.

It is frustrating. Sometimes best to set up layers and/or building options for such things that you only want shown and edited in certain drawing modes. Then, lock the layer or building option once you have them where you want them. Most of the time that is the most secure way to treat those things.

Makes sense.

I hadn't expected to have to work with layers as much as seems necessary.

I expected MODES to take care of the layers.

Site Plans frustrate me too, as to what shows and what doesn't especially if you actually want to produce a site plan that includes some standard drawn items that aren't available in site mode .,..

Is your site plan in the same drawing as your floor plan.  It's best after drawing your floor plan to go to site mode and generate a building outline.  This will prompt you to save your site plan as it's own drawing.

If your site plan is in the same drawing that you are using the block move, are you turning on "Visible Only" when selecting your block?

Yes it is in the same drawing.

Did not turn on vis only.

Obviously I've got more to learn before I'm safe on site plans.

Yes, like Jim said, it is certainly way better to have the site plan as it's own drawing. I sometimes will draw a schematic site plan quickly on the foundation plan, but often move it to it's own drawing. The nice thing about that is you can add it to your model or remove it easily without having to turn on and off building options of extraction visibility. It also helps with making adjustments without affecting the floor plans as you have run into.
