I'm using 2018 version, I have a porch with 6x6 wooden support posts,  Customer wants angled support arms coming off posts to toward the top. How do I make them?

You can draw one of these as a solid and save it as a symbol. The symbol menu will allow you to orient it
correctly.

You may also use sloped beams.

I use beams, use the width you need and then adjust the height of them.  Best results come from changing the "join tolerance" to 0" so you can adjust the height of either end without the beam snapping to something.
