Still having major lag here...ONLY when softplan is running.  Computer works just fine if softplan isn't open.  I went so far as to uninstall, do a fresh install of windows on my desktop, and reinstall.  Exactly the same as it was before.  Same on my surface book.  I suspect that if it isn't a softplan specific issue, then maybe there is other software that isn't playing friendly with softplan.  I get lag doing general work but especially bad when opening and closing project, creating PDF's and DWGs, etc.  A few people posted earlier about changing DPI settings that helped them.  I did that and didn't see any change.  I do have softplan defaulting to my NVIDIA GPU on both machines so shouldn't be any issues there.  Any help is appreciated as my productivity is going WAY down.  Also costing me money in cell phone expenses....Launched my S9+ across the office a few weeks ago, destroying it in the process.  Had to by the S10 5G to replace it!  :)

Only get lag when opening or closing a project.  While it is  just a matter of seconds or a minute at most, while confusing, I am learning to live with it (for now).  I can waste 1 minute a lot of other ways.  At least this gives me a chance to get another glass of water.

Same here. The recent patches helped some.....but still slow and laggy compared to 2018.

Opening Softplan, closing a project, saving to the cloud, and moving an item are my major culprits.

It helps if I only work on one project at a time, or only have one open......but I have to have Multiple projects going as I jump back and forth constantly. Working on one project and closing out while waiting for it to close and then opening the next while waiting for it to open is even more of a nightmare and time consuming.

I sometime have/need up to 10 projects open at one time to keep up with the demand from my clients.

I get tired and frustrated waiting for for the first dimension command.  But after it is active it is instantaneous.

Lately, my crosshairs have been acting funny.  They will be normal then all of a sudden its as if they are assigned a lineweight and become thick....that is annoying so i have to change the color and it will go back to the original thickness then all of a sudden it will go back a thicker style.

Ive never used Chief Architect.  Do they have lag issues?  I use to use Autocad LT, there was never any lag with that program.

Yes, Chief will at times have "issues" with being slow to respond. Nothing too bad as I recall though. Autocad LT has no lag issues because it is only ever dealing with lines, circles and arcs although hatches can be problematic. What you see is what there is and it ain't much!

I haven't checked for the outcome, but when I looked at task manager I saw that even though I had turned Norton off, it was still using a large chunk of the CPU

I deleted the program and will see the effect.    Definitely will help, the situation.

I've stopped using anything other than Microsoft Antivirus software.  Even my IT friends agree with this.  McAfee and Norton have both gotten hugely invasive and use ridiculous amounts of memory.  And if trying to uninstall, I've seen it cause reformatting hard drives because I burrows so deeply in.
