A funny quirk with offset

I have noticed that if you start the offset command then enter the offset dimension and add a space at the end of the dim text, it doesn't offset the dimension you entered but instead changes the text to some decimal of an inch instead.

 

Example: set the offset to 24" and add a space.  I sometimes add a space accidentally since I did that in Autocad for 25 years.  (A space can be setup in autocad to = a return and can be much quicker if typing with one hand and mousing with the other.) SP changes 24" to 0.9449" and uses that to offset.  Is this some undocumented feature that I've found?

 

Can anyone confirm this on their machine?

I can confirm that indeed it does change the offset value to .9449".  I have no idea why, but yes it does do that.

Thanks.  I was hoping that it was just a bad install.  But looks like once again, never mind.

same result here, does it with any input factor. Decimal is different but...
