Every time I try to draw a custom site, I have issues getting it to display in 3d.  3+ hours this morning going over my posts and others, watching videos, and trying different things, but no luck.

1. I generated a building outline, and saved as a separate site plan drawing.

2. I entered surveyor coordinates to draw my property.  I had trouble getting the arc correct to close the polygon, and that might be part of my issue.

3. I was able to import google site data into my site drawing.

4. I THINK I have a site polygon and a property polygon, but neither might be closed.

5. I have generated grade lines.

6. I have added my site drawing to my model, multiple times. closed softplan and reopened project, no luck.

7. Site polygons is checked in my extraction options.

Can anyone tell me what else to try?  Is there a way to add the arc to the rest of my polygon to close it?  Has anyone developed the interface that lets softplan read my mind and have it display the model the way I need it to look?

Thank you again...

Dave

It might be as simple as editing the site polygon after you've drawn it. It won't display until you do.

If the site polygon is not shaded in Site mode, it likely is not a closed polygon. The polygon must close in order to have a surface apply a surface that you can see in 3D. If you right click within the site area, you should get the 'Site Line: Property' edit dialog and all lines should highlight. If that is not the case, check that the corners have closed and fillet them if needed.

If you create a ticket we can take a closer look for you.

I think that is my issue. tried adding a segment and fileting the lines, but it is still not closed. Just sent a ticket. Thanks.

I sometimes Explode my Property Lines in order to Offset my Setback Lines. Then once I do that I try and rejoin them like you do with a Polygon in the Edit > Form Polygon. Then it brings back the shaded Site Lines Polygon.

In my experience VERY few Surveyors plans actually close correctly.

Thanks, Brian.  That worked.  Should have tried that myself.  Thank you again.
