Cant change the height of a custom symbol

Made a corner board symbol from solid cubes but once made I cant adjust the height. The height box in edit changes but the symbol doesnt change

I've noticed that too in 2018. We haven't got round to ALL updating to 2020 yet!

Symbols that contain solids do not have the ability to edit in the vertical dimension. This behavior is not new to version 2020 and it has been reported. 

 

The best solution is to create the symbol, add it to a blank drawing and view it in 3D. From 3D you can then export to a format such as 3DS or DWG and save that to a 3D Symbol folder. Once saved, you can link your 2D symbol to the new 3D symbol which will scale vertically as a single entity.

Strange as I have made this same symbol in some previous versions. I'll try Brent's suggestions or make it in Sketchup
