Just imported dwg into a drawing.

All my drawings in the project now have all the layers from import.

I deleted the erroneous layers from one drawing and it deleted the layers from entire project.

I want Layer a,b,c,d,e,f,g, in drawing 001 and I want layers l.m.n.o.p. in drawing 002 but if I delete layers from 001 it also deletes layer from 002.

This is destructive to individual "Drawings" uniqueness.

Yeah, ive noticed something funny with layers and how they cooperate with the "enhanced" drawing templates.  Need to touch base with Softplan about it.   Just haven't yet.

You may have to pick up something that will read and write DWG files to get things on the correct layers so that you don't have to delete layers in SP, and it looks right if you just turn them off.

Do you think the programmers ever get tired of hearing from us?

Little off topic.

Put aside the dwg import and the problem still exist.

I deleted the erroneous layers from one drawing and it deleted the layers from entire project.

How do you "delete" a layer.  I could not find a way.

If your drawing is set to use the "custom drawing options" when you import a dwg the layers of that dwg will only be added to the current SoftPlan drawing. (As it was in 2018)

If your drawing is set to use a "Project Drawing Template" then those layers should be added to the selected template and thus all drawings in the project using that template.

That explains import.

Is the SP intent for Project or Drawing template, same for deleting layers?

That's an extra step I have been complaining about for years.

You must go to Options (top menu bar) Layer Setup.

Sure wish all the stuff you can do to Options -> Layer Setup could be done from the Layer button just above drawing window.

They could do way with Options -> Layer Setup all together (too many steps).

Couldn't agree more!

Yes.  If you have a template selected then the layers are managed on the template level. Adding them or removing them should do so to all drawings in the project referencing that template.

That explains import.
