How do I assign a standing seam profile to the roof?

But they are just textures, Allen wants a real 3D profile.

Standing seam is an illusion using 2 heel height roof planes. The rafters and ridge beam which simulate the standing seam are associated with the higher heel plane. Great out of the box idea which i can not take credit for....something Randy Cohn was great at.
This same logic is also useful for wooden stairs that need a carpet runner down the center....have a second stair slightly raised down the center to simulate carpet.

Very cool Joseph. However it would be nice if it can be done more like what Allen is asking so that for us that are using Softlist would be able to keep it simple and accurate.

I appreciate that but i dont need another computer program to manipulate models. LOL
I understand! Unless you are really going for an impressive submittal to a customer the time you can put into those extra bits of realism are not worth it. SoftPlan actually does a really good job by itself getting the point across for a project.
