Thanks for all of your input. A suggestion has been made to add the ability to use profiles on a roof surface. 

While you are at it, make a way to do the same for profiles on a gable roof provided wall. I have a work around but it's a lot of extra trouble.

You can get the same profile in the gable roof provided wall by checking the "Gable End Profile" option, then give it a profile, tell it whether or not it's a vertical siding and the spacing you want - just like we do in the wall definitions.
