Beam Disappears with Gable?

Anyone else have this issue? It aggravates me. I created a ticket earlier...

Jon is the beam set at the face of the post? It may be behind the siding.

I often set them out a small amount  if they are to be visible in front of the siding.

Without a 2D view it is hard to tell the beam location you are referencing

In the beam edit dialog box uncheck "Clip Beam to Roof"

SP replied to the ticket & said the same. I'll give it a shot next time I see it, I ended up deleting the beam in this case to do a different kind of porch. Not because of the error but

b/c I thought it would look better. lol

I understand why 'clip to roof' might be a selectable option.

I don't know why it would be selected as a default by SoftPlan.
