So I'm working on a development with about 20 houses and some of the houses I'm adding act up weird.

Image 1 shows the basement floor and whenever I switch to the main floor its position changes (image 2), but then going back to basement will place them at the right position again.

It also reflects it on the 3D image

Anyone having the same issues or can help with that?

Are you using neighborhood mode or adding them all in one file?

I've seen neighbourhood mode behave like that, but it was 4 or 5 years ago, and I was told it had been fixed.

what is neighborhood mode, am I the only one who has no idea what/where this is??? I recently upgraded from version 16 ----> 2020 so I am blown away at all the new/updated features.  in the past when we upgraded (we typ upgrade every 2 years but pushed off recently) the new version came with a book/manual explaining all the NEW features of 2020.  I just got the same size book but its just a std manual for 2020, doesn't explain at all the new features so all my discoveries ive made on the newest features have either been done so online (youtube/SP forum) or looking through the table of contents on the 2020 manual and seeing something I didn't recognize.  is the neighborhood mode only for SP+ members or is it available to all??? where do I find it/how do I get to it?? how do I put other peoples houses there?? if someone can send me a link to go to explaining something thatd be awesome!!

In SITE MODE ... MODEL > NEIGHBORHOOD ... Once activated, you have to go back to MODEL > ADD HOUSE or LIST HOUSES. Once a house is added to the neighborhood, it pulls ALL it's information from the individual project files, so that each house can be unique in the finishes used.

^^^ This... and it's So cool!! I've been using it for a few weeks now building a 3D model of one of our neighborhoods.

If you are using the same house multiple times, it sometimes helps to put a version in it's own folder for each time you are using the house (all plans in model stack in a folder for each version/instance you use in your neighborhood). Then, you can also change the exterior materials/textures or whatever else you want for each instance. It is a bit of work as you need to open each version to make changes to material textures in their original folder location. It would be nice to be able to assign preset material files to each neighborhood house within the model you are using them in.

Neighbourhood has some interesting abilities. Here are a couple of images from a 12 house development by one of our SoftPlan users, it was next to a golf course.

When bringing in a house to the neighbourhood it will be displayed in the mode it was in the original project, eg, if in drawing mode you will see dimensions etc in neighbourhood.

Likewise textures will be displayed as per the original project.

Each additional house is in their own project folder and can be used for various projects if required.

We used this neighbourhood project to create a video in SoftPlan.

I find it easier to create a large single site plan, in its own project and add the houses as required.

This allows you to position and rotate all houses on the site.
