A lot of my work is for other builders/designers, so I have several versions of
Softplan installed. Recently I inadvertently opened a project (for a client who
still uses 2018)in 2020, and even though I shut it down without saving it I was
denied access to the project in 2018. What I found out was I could still open
the recovery files, so I was able to save the checkpoints as the files I needed
in a new folder. I mention this in case someone else is in a similar situation-
don't know if it would work if you saved the project in 2020.

One of the first things that I do whenever I open a project to make changes is save a revision. I used that when I migrated over to 2020 so that my old 2018 files went into a revision folder and I could always go back to them if I ever needed.
And if you do that and happen to accidentally open a file in 2020 and need to delete the SPP file you can always bring back up an SPP file from a previous revision in case you had some information and sheet layouts in the folder.
