I am trying to create a drawing showing the many wall styles a client requires.  I created the original drawing months ago, and it has worked well.  Yesterday I was adding some new styles and I could not select a wall style from the drop down, but it was on the list.  I created a ticket and it was suggested to delete the wall style.  I did that, and now while working on the drawing I notice I have lost many (maybe 10 or so) of my custom wall styles.  Tech support is looking at the issue, but here are my questions:

 

1. Has anyone encountered similar issues while creating new wall styles?

2. I save a definition of a similar wall type as a new name, then edit that with the necessary changes.  Is that the best way to create a new style?  Typically I am making a minor change, like turning on the insulation, or changing siding A to siding B.

I have not had any issues with custom or changing wall styles/definitions.  Curious on what tech finds out

I had a similar issue last week. I was using the Change Wall command and when I selected the new wall it would be on the list and I was able to select it but it did not change the wall.

I've had issues recently with using an existing wall def to create another wall def.. all walls from the old turn into the new throught the project.

Still not clear on all the issues I was/am having.  One large part of it was tied to drawing option templates.  I was creating walls on one template, and somehow switching to a different template and wall styles will change WITHOUT SOFTPLAN TELLING YOU THAT IT IS CHANGING WALLS.  I had 8" block walls change to 4" stud/siding walls, and many wall styles reverting to one different one.  Still trying to get 1 drawing with samples of all the walls I use for a client.

I just cleaned up a project for someone... he had some drawings using drawing templates, and others using project templates. 

 

Could this be the issue you are having?

Today I edited a wall style, and when I saved the edit, 2 other unrelated wall styles disappeared from my drawing and the walls changed into something else.  Created another ticket.  is anyone else having issues with softplan changing walls without user input?
