Looking for a new printer.  Preference would be one that holds 8.5" x 11" AND 11" x 17".  Would prefer price to be under $1K.

Appreciate any and all help!!!

allen.

Was just looking for something similar, Brother MFC J6945(inkjet) seems to fit the bill. Haven't looked at HP so don't know if they have one. Seems reasonable at $370.00 cdn. Haven't priced a Laser printer.

I believe Epson has an inkjet that does this.

I have an Epson WF 7720 you can fit 8.5 x 11 in 1 tray and 11x17 in the 2nd tray. You can feed a 13x19 in the back of the printer.

I have the Epson WorkForce one at home and the Brother mentioned above at the office here. I like the Brother machine better. I really wanted to find a laser black and white machine because we rarely print in color but they were nowhere to be found with 11x17 media for a decent price. So I caved on the Brother figuring I could buy a new one every couple months at the price so it can't be that bad. And it has been great. The Epson I have issues with it grabbing multiple pieces of paper at a time. And the scanner and scanner software just does not work well for me. I use the scanner on the Brother machine to scan right to a folder on our NAS server and it is so much easier to do it right from the machine. Both also have cloud printing which I use on occasion but not really that often.

What I really want to do is next time I buy a plotter get one with 2 rolls so that I can put an 18 inch aside by 36 inch paper. Then I will print 12x18 at half scale for field work instead of going all the way down to 45% for 11x17 pages. I just like having scaled drawings when in the field.
