I have drawn my second floor as I have hundreds of times but when I go to put a roof on it...it doesn't recognize that I have drawn walls as well as in elevations...no walls at all and it 3d, no walls at all...any ideas?

Check the wall definition. It sounds like it’s not marked as load bearing.

^ That's one option.

 

Others could be:

  Drawn on layer that's turned off. 

  Building option on/off.

  In roof mode, make sure multiple floor roof is turned on.

  Make sure "extract in model" hasn't been turned off for those walls.

 

also, and this is one of those "are you sure the printer is plugged in" questions.... But, make sure your file for second floor, is up in the model section, and not just

down with the rest of the files in the navigation tree.
