Is there an easy way to move a line that is angled in a direction that is not at that angle? When I pick the line the cursor rotates to that angle. Say I have a line drawn at 45 deg. I want to move it at a 90 deg angle. It is easier to just locate a starting point and draw a new line than it is to move the original line. And I often can't use window the line and use block move due to the other lines that would be in the window.

You can add it to the selection and then reference other items in your drawing with snap on while only moving the line that is selected. Or, like you said, create a line as a reference that is the length and orientation you want to move the particular angled line.

Select the item wiith CTRL and them select the move from and to locations. You may have to add a construction point where you want it to move to and snap to that. I agree though, sometimes it's a PITA that the cursor automatically re-orients ... we should be able to have a oreintation box similar to attach that keeps the cursor in ortho mode.

I use move block. then I just add my distance and use the arrows to tell what direction
