Hello all,

Two months into SoftPlan and still a little shaky on its use.

Timing could be better but I have just accepted a job designing a log home.  The challenge is that my builder (and most builders in my area) like to use bigger logs than the 8" and 10" available in the SoftPlan library.

Is it possible to edit the currrent logs so that I can design with 13" logs? (My preferred size).  Or has Softplan built a library of 13" log walls and I don't yet know where to find them?

My alternative is to use my old drawing software (DataCAD) but if I can harness the power and presentation ability of SoftPlan I'm sure the client would be impressed.

What does the Forum think?  Is this too big for a newbie to tackle??  or not possible at this time?

Thanks

Dale

Dale you got this!!

Draw the wall (Either 8" or 10" )> edit the wall> Click on definition>

Wall definition shows> Do save as> Type in desired log size ( 13" ) > change the log

diameter in the current wall definition to desired diameter (13")> set horizontal start at 0>

Save. You now have a log wall using 13" diameter logs. Adjust wall definition for desired profile.
