Creating 3-D topo

I have a CAD file topo from a civil engineer.  Is there a way to turn the CAD lines into SoftPlan Contours?  I have searched this forum and the user guide, but cannot seem to find the preferred method of doing this.  

 

Any help would be appreciated!

Tech support gave me the command - "convert shape to site line" that will suffice!  If there is a better method, please share!

As far as I know that's the right way to do it.  I've tried it using PDF's. Works as long as the PDF was created correctly.
