I have to change setting in red box for every new job (see attached).

Is there a way to change them in system settings?

Be sure and tell us if you find a way.  I have NEVER called a floor plan "Main Floor".  Not even on commercial plans.

I think you can change the default name, but so far I haven't found a way to un-check those boxes automatically. I'll keep looking though.

I always call mine "Main Floor" too, however unlike Softplan I NEVER use ALL CAPS in file names, so I have to retype it anyway.

I cant get away from using all CAPS.  I guess it is just a hold over from back in the days of hand drawing and lettering by hand-it was always CAPS.  As for MAIN FLOOR, I'm like Brian and use First Floor and Second Floor, etc.  However have second thoughts about it as I would prefer to say lower floor or terrace floor instead of basement.

1 story homes: FLOOR PLAN
2 story homes: MAIN FLOOR PLAN, 2ND FLOOR PLAN
Homes with Basements: BASEMENT PLAN

I tried the lowercase version and it just doesn’t look right to me. All CAPS here, as this is how I learned.

Ditto... Though, half of the time what I "Label" something is a marketing ploy by  the boss. "We should call it this..."

Well that's fine for a marketing plan, but it's irrelevant for construction drawings. I never won that argument so... I just don't care anymore. Sometimes

rooms have 3 names on the plan...

No basements here in the low country, but we have drive under foundations, so I use main floor....  but I also re-type so it is not all caps.

New Homes

Floor Plan (One Story)

First Floor Plan (Multistory)

Second Floor Plan (Multistory)

Remodel/Additions

Existing Floor Plan (One Story)

Existing First Floor Plan (Multistory)

Proposed Floor Plan (One Story)

Proposed First Floor Plan (Multistory)

What would be really cool is a

Drop down box with Custom File Names (names we create. not SP)

Oh and Yes, uncheck the tabs for default.

At some point I guess that I decided that I wanted the same names for all types of projects.

So with that being said whether it is a residential project or a commercial project or a single story or multi story it is always

EXISTING FIRST FLOOR

EXISTING SECOND FLOOR

PROPOSED FIRST FLOOR

PROPOSED SECOND FLOOR

PROPOSED HABITABLE ATTIC

PROPOSED FOUNDATION

PROPOSED BASEMENT

And ever detached accessory structures are

GARAGE FIRST FLOOR

GARAGE ROOF FRAMING

CABANA FOUNDATION

And I also don't use the New Project Dialog in SoftPlan. I actually changed my Windows Registry to allow me to start a new folder in Windows Explorer and then right click to add a New SoftPlan File

So we have projects set up for specific municipality's and use the copy project format paste in the folder templates we use and off we go.
