Can the developers put back the elevation extension lines they way they were a version or two ago. Currently, when I put (front elevation) on my title block drawing space and if I need to move the dimensions closer to the drawing, the extension lines DO NOT move. In normal drawing mode the extension lines follow the dimension line when I move them or if I put my own dimension lines in. Also, as seen as attached. Can they put the elevation auto dims back as well so they don't overlap as pictured in (Extension Line-Overlap of Dims.png)? It would be helpful to have the auto dimension (Top of roof - Top Plate of wall, Top Plate of wall - To Top of subfloor, Top of Subfloor - Bottom of Floor System, and bottom of floor system - Bottom of wall, then Bottom of wall to bottom of Footing (As attached)

Agreed. Please go back to the old way.

In the meantime, I explode the lines and redo all of them. This new way they have them is currently a waste of time.

Scott,

So those are not extension lines, they are shape lines. Lines themselves never changed length when dimensions attached to them were moved. Only extension lines did that. Move the line and the dimension should move but the other lines should not. You will have better results using block move in that situation.

Jason,

Depending on what you are changing, make sure the System Options --> Elevation Generation options have been set the way you want them to be.

Someone probably did not like the way it was done, therefore, the change to the current method.  I too don't like how it is done now as it creates more work, for me at least.

We have been having the same issues.  Pain in the butt on having to deal with it.  Wish we never upgraded to 2020..  2018 was way better in a lot of ways.

Several issues. The most being you have no control on the font. It automatically chooses the font used for Dimensions. All my note font is different than my Dimension font, so I have to explode them all and retype.

Set the text up with what you want to see in the 'Elevation Generation' and then you just have to change the font rather than  re-typing it.

Please create a ticket with this project Scott so we can take a closer look. It appears from the image on the left that there is something amiss with the foundation and we can look at it further through a ticket.

As Don stated, the lines are not extensions and will not automatically adjust shorter as extensions do.
