Ashley you will want, in 2D when assigning materials, to use  the Draw>Paint>Paint options

to fill each area of siding, roofing etc. You will be able to adjust the distance between the

metal roof ribs by adjusting the horizontal spacing percentage, adjust the siding width by

adjusting the vertical percentage, ie; 4" Horizontal @ 1.25% = 5" Horizontal Siding. Each

area to be filled by a paint will need to be cleaned up to create a closed area.

Use PAINT > PAINT and choose a pattern. This will just paint lines into the available space. NO COLOUR and NO TEXTURE.

Are you using the live annotated elevations or did you generate the elevations?

Do what they said above. Also, I found the best look for 2D elevations by adjusting the pen settings, changing pen 3 to .2 black and pen 4 to .1 grey

and then setting "paint" under shapes to pen 4... This makes all the lines darker, and all your paint lighter... just looks better when printed, in my opinion.
