Is there anyway to show a 9-lite exterior door?  I'm new to Softplan and i'm probably missing something simple.

Thanks,

Stephan

Stephan, I copied my  6-lite Dutch Door and edited it to have 9 lites, which it shows in the library. When I insert it into my drawing for some reason it still shows 6 lites. Maybe someone else can explain why this is happening.

Yes ... Someone can ...

The problem is that the "DUTCH" door 3D model has been designed as a six light door (Why? ... Who knows?) ... I've never actually seen a 6 light door like that. Although we use MANY 9 lights.

The easiest way to get round it, is go into the DRAWING LIBRARY > ELEVATION OPENINGS > DOOR > DUTCH and edit it ... and uncheck LINK TO 3D MODEL. Once you've done that, the drawing will no longer pull up the 3D model, and will revert to an enhanced opening, and will allow you to edit the grilles as usual. If you want to make the changes permanent, then go into the SYSTEM LIBRARY and make the same changes.

Why can't you just edit the grill like you do for windows? Usually works for me... ??

It doesn't work with that door, because the 6 light grille is in-built into the 3D model of the door. If it was just glass then the software could supply the grilles, but it isn't, the grille is actually part of the linked model.

One would think as this is the logical way to do it, but alas, Keith is right.
You have to go around your elbow to touch your nose......and it’s absurd.
