We do structural layouts and then send everything to our PE. I was curious what software folks use for span and load calc's

Do you use the isPlan? or just the single member  istruct tool

I also use IStruct.  I did use IsPlan when I was associated with a truss company, but now only have the beam design part of the software.

I use Forte

We use Forte and BeamChek

 

Looked into using Javellin so that we could transfer over the information straight from SoftPlan but it came across messy.

 

We wish SoftPlan had a little more functionality with structural design. As of right now when we draw joists or beams on a ceiling plan they will name them C1 on both the first and second floor ceilings which is very confusing and has no way of customizing the labels currently. Would like to see this aspect improved in future versions as well as exportation for Forte imports with spans and such.
